When did Jobs West start helping the Youth of WA?
The organisation commenced operations in 1974 as a youth development agency, and has evolved into a leading community enterprise using the techniques of self-awareness, self-management, awareness of the needs of others, and relationship brokering, to deliver social justice outcomes.
We operate on a community and industry partnership model, bringing together all levels of government, community agencies, schools and industry to assist people to gain appropriate education and training, and sustainable careers.
We pride ourselves on providing excellent service delivery, participate in ongoing research and development and involve ourselves in developing community partnerships to ensure a holistic approach to assisting others.
We integrate individual development, community development and local economic development, with the aim of supporting people at all levels to develop appropriate leadership and management skills.
The equity groups that we assist include:
- People of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Refugees
- People living with a disability
- Indigenous Australians
- Sole Parents
- People from low-income households
- Women
- Mature aged workers
- Youth-at-risk
