Regional Industry Career Advisers (RICA)
Career Advice Australia (CAA) is an Australian Government initiative which aims to support all young people from 13 to 19 years of age, to help them achieve a successful transition through school, and from school to further education, training and employment.
The Regional Industry Career Advisers (RICA's) works in partnership with the Local Community Partnerships (LCP's) in the region to engage schools, local businesses/industry and community groups or representatives, to ensure that all young people have access to expert industry career advice.
Objectives of the Regional Industry Career Adviser Network are to:
- Improve the quality and availability of regional industry career information, advice and resources, particularly in skills needs areas, for Local Community Partnerships, schools, employers. Businesses and young people.
- Improve community awareness of the skills need of local and regional businesses.
- Increase effective employer participation in LCP programmes and activities such as Adopt a School, Structured Workplace Learning and Career and Transition Support.
- Improve understanding of Local Community Partnerships, employers, businesses, schools and young people of the current challenges facing industry on a national and regional basis.
