Board of Directors

Stirling Skills Training, trading as Jobs West, is governed by a board of volunteer business and community figures. The board's dedication to exemplary governance practices are a driving force behind Stirling Skills Training's forward thinking approach.

Edith van Dommelen (SST Chair)

Finance specialist, with extensive experience on the Boards of national companies.

As a chartered accountant and practicing tax agent, Edith brings many years of financial experience to her role as Chair. She has been in the field of finance and treasury for 20 years with various companies including Woolworths Limited (Corporate Treasurer) and The Royal Automobile Club of WA (General Manager, Accounts and Finance). Edith has broad governance experience in both the private sector and the not-for-profit sector.

Kate Dempster (SST Deputy Chair)

Kate is a welfare services specialist, with extensive knowledge and experience of public sector employment policy and services

She has completed a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Industrial Relations, and a Bachelor of Laws. Kate joined the Board of Stirling Skills Training in 2001.

Rob Gates (SST Secretary)

Infrastructure development specialist, with extensive knowledge of the employment and training market

Rob is Manager, International Science Infrastructure, Office of Science and Innovation, Department of Premier and Cabinet. He has filled the positions of either Treasurer, Deputy Chairman or Chairman of the Board continuously since 1983.

Brett Mallott (SST Treasurer)

Finance specialist, with extensive experience in telecommunications management

Joining in 2004, Brett has extensive experience in Telecommunications, Management and Finance. Currently the Manager of Mortgage Services with a prominent WA finance firm, Brett brings to the board his skills in relationship management in a commercial environment as well as a strong financial perspective to governance.

Norm Farrow (SST Director)

Automotive and engineering industry specialist, with extensive management experience in the retail automotive industry and the heavy equipment industry. Norm is an automotive and mining industry specialist. He commenced his career as an automotive apprentice, progressed to WA Service Manager with Ford, and has become a key player in the supply of meachanical components to the mining industry.

Formerly manager at CBC Bearings, Norm has been an active board member for since 1999.

Basil Lambert (SST Director)

Director of ADR Works, which provides mediation and arbitration services to business, government and the community. Basil has been a Director of Stirling Skills Training since 2003.
