About Jobs West
Jobs West is a not-for-profit organisation focused on achieving sustained community development through employment services and training, especially for economically disadvantaged people. We are continually developing new and innovative projects for women, youth-at-risk, Indigenous people, people of culturally and linguistically diverse background, refugees, mature workers and people living with a disability.
We deliver our services at a range of sites throughout WA from Kalgoorlie to Albany to the Perth Metropolitan Area, and are establishing a state first ICT and Logistics industry Skill Centre in Malaga. One of the key factors in our success is the strong industry and government support for our innovative approach to training in a "live" business context.
Jobs West's benevolent goal is to assist individuals to obtain and keep appropriate career-based employment so that they can become financially independent. We have the infrastructure, the flexibility and the capacity to deliver a service that is focused on the needs of individual people.
We operate on a community and industry partnership model, bringing together all levels of government, community agencies, schools and industry to assist people to gain appropriate education and training, and sustainable careers.
Our vision
We will be recognised as a leading centre for entrepreneurial approaches to learning
Our mission
- Community, industry and individual needs shape the learning opportunities we provide.
- We help people to develop their potential by facilitating access to learning opportunities.
- We support the development of resilient communities through sustainable initiatives.
We value
- Individual development - We build healthy communities by developing the potential of individuals. We contribute most when we have a sense of belonging, being needed and having a purpose.
- Equity - Global equity can mean global harmony and a different world for our youth. Access to opportunities changes organisations, individuals and communities.
- Diversity - If we can accept and understand diversity, then we can value and enjoy differences.
- Collaboration - We can deliver enduring results through collaboration between business, government and community.
- Dreaming - We can exceed our greatest expectations if we dare to dream.
Our decisions are guided by these principles
- Commitment - Individual contributions make our organisation great. We are passionate and committed. We bring our wholehearted selves to our work in order to develop our own identity, to live the vision through our own personal values, to be accountable for our contribution to the big picture and to enjoy what we do.
- Industry support - Engaging industry in the design and delivery of our services is vital for our success.
- Active learning - We support learning for people of all ages and backgrounds. Meaningful learning occurs when we are active participants in creating and shaping our own education.
- Financial strength - While money is a critical input, and financial viability is essential, it is not a measure of great achievements.
- Ethics - We remain ethical in all of our dealings.
